At Wood Tone Music, we take pride in our role as a music publisher. We work diligently to ensure that composers and songwriters are rightfully compensated for their art. Through publishing contracts, we facilitate the management of copyrights, license compositions, track their usage, and distribute royalties to composers. We also connect artists with opportunities, securing commissions and promoting compositions in various media, from recordings to film and television.

What Sets Us Apart

• Songwriters vs. Publishers: A songwriter or composer is the creative force behind a musical work, while a publisher is responsible for owning or managing the copyright of that work. To establish ownership, the songwriter assigns the copyright to the publisher.

Our Approach

• BMI Payments: We follow BMI’s model, where payments to songwriters and composers, as well as publishers, are considered a single unit, totaling 200%. Typically, this results in a 100% writers’ share (half of the available 200%) and a 100% publishers’ share.
